Welcome to the book review part of 'foggyreads.' These reviews are the main reason I decided to make this website (hence why 'foggyreads' is in the base url). These reviews pre-2025 were initially posted to my Goodreads account, but after switching to StoryGraph (where I still keep my ratings), I realized that their review function is pretty hidden, one feature I did appreciate about Goodreads. So, I decided to create a place to put them all, which led to me carving out a space for me on the website.
Are these really book reviews? Some are, probably. I do talk about what I liked and what I disliked. But instead of "reviews" I might classify them as "reactions," a less-structured write-up with no rules as to what I want to talk about. Sometimes I keep it short and just give a quick one-paragraph review. Sometimes I'll go a little deeper; I'll analyze the work and provide my (spoiler-free!) interpretation, so you can decide if it's something you want to read. And especially if a book really makes me think, then maybe I'll dive a little deeper into its themes and how they penetrate into my own life.
